Application Rates
- Vegetable Gardens – Apply 1 cup (approx. 1/2 lb) per 50 linear feet of row or 1 cup per 50 sq. ft. (5 ft. x 10 ft.). Repeat monthly or as needed. Rinse fertilizer off leaves and stems
- Flower Beds – Apply 1 cup per 50 sq. ft. (5 ft. x 10 ft.). Apply 3 times per year. 5 lbs. covers 1,000 sq. ft. (40 ft. x 25 ft.). Rinse fertilizer off leaves or stems after application
- Roses & Large Shrubs – Apply 1/2 cup per foot of height. Apply 3 times per year. Rinse fertilizer off leaves or stems. Use half rate for younger plants
- Fruit Trees (Apples, Pears, Peaches, Plums) – For mature trees, use 1 cup (approx. 1/2 lb) per inch of tree diameter, up to 6" diameter trees. Thereafter use 2 cups (approx. 1 lb.) per inch of tree diameter, not to exceed 15 lbs of fertilizer. Fertilize 3 times per year during spring and summer
- Citrus, Mango & Avocado – Apply 1/2 cup per foot of tree canopy or apply entire 5 lb bag of fertilizer for established trees. Fertilize 3 times per year but do not fertilize November through January
- Trees – Apply 1 cup (approx. 1/2 lb) under tree canopy for every inch of trunk diameter. Water thoroughly. Do not use more than 5 cups per tree per application. Fertilize 2 times per year for maintenance
Watering: Water in thoroughly after application. For best results, apply during active growth periods.
