Key Features

The soursop (guanabana) tree is a 2-foot tall tropical plant with glossy, dark green, lanceolate leaves, produces large, fragrant white flowers about 3-4 inches in size, and bears spiky green fruit with a sweet, tangy flavor reminiscent of pineapple and strawberry.

Special considerations

Soursop (guanabana) trees require well-draining soil, protection from frost, and consistent moisture, necessitating special care and warm, humid conditions for optimal growth.

Growing and Care Instructions

Soursop (guanabana) thrives in well-draining, rich soil with regular watering; requires full sun (6-8 hours daily); tolerates temperatures between 60-90°F; benefits from balanced fertilizer every 6-8 weeks; and should be pruned to maintain shape and remove dead branches.

  • Fertilizing

Fertilize every 4-6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer.

  • Watering

Water regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soggy.

  • Light Requirements

    Full sun to partial shade.

Fantasticly healthy plants

Bought these two small trees during the winter. The nursey was communicative with me about shipping dates, as they were going from Florida to Ohio they couldn't immediately be shipped.
When they arrived they were beautiful and lush. They went through the expected shock given their new temperatures. After dropping all their leaves I fertilized them and kept them watered and within a week and a half they had started putting out new leaf buds. Both are recovering beautifully, and are quickly filling out.

A new sour sop tree grows in Lake Worth

Two-foot sour sop tree is thriving and sprouting new leaves within 3 weeks of planting. Looking forward to picking my first fruit within two years.

Ordered lychee

Sunny at customer service did not help me. Sent her message acknowledging I ordered lychee, they sent me wrong tree. All she said was send it back, at my expense. Not happy.
