Special considerations

The grafted mango tree from Florida requires special care in terms of watering and fertilization, and it thrives in warm, frost-free conditions.

Growing and Care Instructions

Mango trees prefer well-draining sandy loam soil with moderate watering, require full sun for at least 8 hours daily, tolerate temperatures between 40°F to 100°F, benefit from a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during growing season, and should be pruned to maintain shape and remove dead wood.

  • Fertilizing

Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season.

  • Watering

Water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry between waterings.

  • Light Requirements

    Full sun to partial shade.

Arrived with top a little bent…

Think my plant was a little too tall for the box it was shipped in, since the top part was bent, but it does appear to be on the taller end of the 2-3 ft height range. Took a little bit to get it mostly straight/upright on the stake it came with. The bend doesn’t bother me too much since it’s probably around the height I’ll end up pruning down to anyways for the first set of lateral branches. Seems healthy overall. Had to add some additional soil to the top of the pot since there was some soil displacement during shipping as well.

M-4 mango in Clearwater

I ordered a M-4 mango tree 3 weeks ago. It arrived in 5 days, and it was in beautiful condition. In less than 2 weeks it is putting off new growth. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Survived trauma of FedEx shipping to California

Mangoes are a hardy tree, but some of the blunt trauma of shipping via FedEx has been enough to crush the root ball container, loosening and redistributing 1/2 of the soil outside causing an Alphonso mango tree to die 2 years ago. Everglades Farm’s re-newed efforts at packaging have resulted in an M 4 Mango tree shipped last week with obvious blunt trauma to the container, 9 days in solitary confinement, delivered upside down, appearing remarkably healthy and without soil loss from the container. Thank you assuring that mango trees can survive the trip to California.

Do not buy from here. They send sick trees

This place is a real hit or miss. You might get a great tree or you might get a sickly tree that dies in a couple months. My M-4 arrived with tip burned leaves and I followed all procedure to bring it back to health but it was no use. The M-4 tree eventually died. save your money and get trees elsewhere.
