Lotsa fruit. Lotsa shipping damage. Soil has hardened area at the root.

I test the pot with a moisture meter every day and I encounter VERY HARD soil around the root ball, never anything except lower-level moist. All of the other trees have easily accessible soil except this root ball. I am taking photos as I go and I am coddling this tree as much as possible. Taking off all fruit to root!

I ordered about a dozen trees from this vendor and only one other tree has an "issue."

So far I have left the tree in the pot (1 month) but it is already showing tree and fruit growth which is exciting. Looking forward to trying my first fruit in a few weeks.
