Methley Plum Tree - A Delicious and Abundant Addition to Your Garden

Product Overview:

The Methley Plum Tree is a popular choice for both experienced gardeners and beginners alike due to its outstanding productivity and ornamental beauty. This hardy plum variety is known for its vigorous growth and ability to produce a generous harvest of delicious, juicy plums year after year.

Key Features:

  • Abundant Fruit Production: The Methley Plum Tree is one of the most prolific plum varieties, offering a bountiful harvest of deep red, juicy plums. The fruit is typically ready for picking from late June to early July, making it a delightful early summer treat.

  • Ornamental Beauty: With its upright and spreading growth habit, the Methley Plum Tree adds visual appeal to any landscape. In spring, it boasts a profusion of beautiful blooms, followed by glossy green leaves that enhance its ornamental value.

  • Self-Fertile: The Methley Plum Tree is self-fertile, meaning it does not require another plum tree for cross-pollination. This makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens where space is limited.

  • Low Maintenance: This variety is known for being low maintenance, requiring minimal pruning and care. Its disease-resistant nature and tolerance to dry, hot conditions make it a resilient and easy-to-grow option for busy gardeners.

  • Adaptable and Hardy: Thriving in full sun and adaptable to various soil types, the Methley Plum Tree is well-suited for growing zones 5-9. Its hardiness ensures it can withstand a range of environmental conditions, making it a reliable producer in most climates.

Growing and Care Instructions:

  • Sunlight Requirements: The Methley Plum Tree thrives in full sun, which is essential for healthy growth and fruit production.

  • Soil and Watering: It is adaptable to most soil types, but well-draining soil is ideal. Regular watering is necessary, especially during dry periods, to maintain healthy growth.

  • Pruning: Minimal pruning is required. However, it's beneficial to prune the tree in late winter to maintain its shape and encourage better air circulation, which can help prevent disease.

  • Harvesting: The plums are typically ready for harvest from late June to early July. They are perfect for eating fresh, canning, or making preserves.

Special Considerations:

  • Disease Resistance: The Methley Plum Tree is resistant to common plum diseases, making it a reliable choice for a healthy, productive tree.

  • Versatile Use: Whether you’re planting in a large garden or a smaller space, this tree’s adaptability and self-fertility make it an excellent addition to any setting.

Gardeners Dream!

I am very satisfied! I reached out to the farm on July 15 about my order. The plum tree I received on July 14 was in excellent condition, with lush, healthy leaves that looked full of life. It was precisely the variety I had ordered, and it made a wonderful addition to my garden. The mango tree I purchased also arrived quickly and in great shape. Everglades Farm responded to my inquiry right away, making sure my experience was nothing short of excellent.

Could be better..

I am very disappointed. I emailed the farm on April 3 with my issue. I received the plum tree the evening of April 2. The tree had almost no leaves. The few it did have were brown and they promptly fell off. Additionally, it is the wrong variety. I would like to receive the correct variety because the mango tree I ordered arrived very promptly and is in really good consition.
As of today, April 16, I have not yet heard back from Everglades Farm.
